UA Junior Combine: Pat Ford

UA Junior Combine: Pat Ford

Pat Ford was one of the younger participants at the recent Under Armour Junior Combine in St. Petersburg. While most of the attendees were 2014 prospects, Ford is only a sophomore and held his own against steep competition.

Ohio was very well represented in the recent Under Armour Junior Combine held in St. Petersburg, Florida. Walsh Jesuit sophomore quarterback Pat Ford was one of the youngest participants, but showed well.

Ford, 6-foot-5, 200-pounds, started all ten games last year and impressed with arm strength and accuracy.

"Being at the Under Armour Combine is a great experience for me," Ford stated. "I just want to prove myself, and show people I'm one of the best quarterbacks in my class. I might be one of the youngest guys here, but I'm not intimidated at all by the other quarterbacks, even though they are all impressive."

In his first game as a starter, Ford faced Canton McKinley and put quite a scare into the Bulldogs, throwing for 263-yards and two touchdowns. He continued that fine play throughout the season.

"I think I could have played a lot better, but I learned a lot and developed into a better player," he explained. "I think I will be a lot better next year. My best assets would be my size and arm strength. I'm working on my footwork, and getting rid of the football quicker.

Although he holds no offers to date, Ford has started to hit the recruiting radar.

"I'm hearing from Penn State, Michigan and Kent State so far," he noted. "I love Penn State and that offense is really great. Coach (Bill) O'Brien is doing a great job with that program. Michigan is a school I'm very interested in, and I'm planning to go their camp next summer."

Ford was extremely impressive at Under Armour, and his arm strength and accuracy were above average. He is a player to watch in the 2015 class in Ohio.
